Customer requirements and challenges

Up until now, AgroLeap has mainly relied on its agronomists to choose the sowing strategy, but the 2015 and 2017 droughts made the company rethink its operations and try to reduce the production risk.

Our approach

Using advanced machine learning algorithms and big data analytics Cropt predicts the yield and risk of crops and varieties in the local weather and soil conditions and selects the strategy that represents the optimal trade-off between profit and risk. This is the most cost-efficient and sustainable method for improving production, as it boosts the profit for up to 25% without any additional investment in fuel, machinery, or fertilizer.

Using Cropt’s system, the company managed to raise the profit for €136k, which is an increase of 12% compared to the 5 year average, while it is estimated that at the same time the risk was reduced for 25%. This means that the production is less susceptible to extreme weather events and fluctuation of prices on the stock market, while the shareholders can expect higher returns.
